Dyer Brook is a town in Aroostook County in the state of Maine in the United States . In 2010, 213 people lived there in 139 households on an area of 99.8 km².

According to the United States Census Bureau , Dyer Brook has a total area of 99.77 km², of which 99.74 km² is land and 0.03 km² is made up of water .
Geographical location
Dyer Brook is located in the south of Aroostook County. Pleasent Lake is south of the town . A few smaller rivers run through the area, there are no larger lakes. The surface of the area is rather flat a smaller elevation is centrally located in the area and to Pleasent Lake is another group of hills without any elevation worth mentioning.

history
Dyer Brook was first settled in 1844, the original name of the area was Township No. 5, Second Range West of the Easterly Line of the State (T5 R2 WELS). Orrin Laughton is considered the first settler. In 1858 the area was organized as a plantation to give the residents the opportunity to vote, as was the case in 1880 and 1887. In 1880, the village had 40 residents with voting rights. It was officially recognized on March 21, 1891. In the 1990s , the town experienced an economic crisis in which it lost 18% of its population. Today Dyer Brook is part of the Southern Aroostook Community School District.
