Macwahoc Plantation is a plantation in Aroostook County in the state of Maine in the United States . In 2010, 79 people lived there in 83 households on an area of 76.7 km².

According to the United States Census Bureau , Macwahoc Plantation has a total area of 67.7 km², of which 67.2 km² is land and 0.5 km² consists of water .
Geographical location
Macwahoc is located in the south of Aroostook County on the border with Penobscot County . The surface of the area is flat, there are no significant elevations. The Molunkus River and the Machwahoc River flow through the area of the Plantation. The settlements are located at the confluence of the two rivers. The Mlunkus Lake is located in the northwest of the plantation, it has its outflow into the Molunkus River.

history
The original name of the plantation was Township 1, Fourth Range West of the Easterly Line of the State (T1 R4 WELS) . The place was settled in 1830 . In October 1844 the plantation was organized under the name Molunkus Plantation to give the residents the right to vote. On December 16, 1851, the plantation was founded and renamed Macwahoc. The area was reorganized in 1854 and 1860 and for tax purposes in 1887. For a long time, agriculture and logging were the main branches of the economy. There was a school and in 1870 170 people lived in the area. In 1880 there were 187.

The US Highway 2 leads north to south through the Plantation Macwahoc. In the area of the Macwahoc settlement, the US Highway 2A , the Military Road , branches off in a northeastern direction. Coming from the south, Maine State Route 170 joins this intersection .
