Geographical location
Smyrna is a town in southeastern Aroostook County. The Duck Pond is northwest of Smyrna and the Duck Pond Outlet flows through the town. In the northeast bordering B Lake at, in the southeast of Cochrane Lake and south of the Timoney Lake . Timoney Mountain is 346 m high in the south.

history
The Methodist pastor Nehemiah Leavitt is considered to be the first settler in Smyrna in 1830 . The place was officially recognized as a town on March 7, 1839. The original name for this area was Township No. 6, Third Range West of the Easterly Line of the State (T6 R3 WELS). The soil consists of gravelly loam and is fertile. The main crop is the potato. Spruce, hemlock, birch and maple grow in the forests. There was a sawmill in Smyrna.
A large number of Amish families have moved here since 1996 , and they have a strong influence on the place.

Interstate 95 , US Highway 2 and the Oakfield – Fort Kent railway line run through the south of the area of the Town of Smyrna . Interstate 95 connects Smyrna with the Canadian border in the east and Bangor in the south.
