Wait ( english waiting ) is a song by British band The Beatles in 1965. Written is it mostly from Paul McCartney , however, is in the conventional with the band Copyright Lennon / McCartney .

Wait was composed by Paul McCartney in the Bahamas , where the Beatles' second feature film was being filmed . McCartney later reported that former child star Brandon De Wilde watched him with interest as he composed the song.

The song was released on June 17, 1965 during sessions for the album Help! Recorded at London's Abbey Road Studios . The song was produced by George Martin , assisted by Norman Smith . The Beatles recorded four takes of the song in full cast . However, the song remained in this version on the album Help! disregarded and unpublished.

The Beatles were delayed with the recordings for the follow-up album Rubber Soul , as Rubber Soul had to be finished in time for the Christmas business. So they took up the unreleased song Wait back and took on 11 November 1965 - the last day of admission for Rubber Soul - more instruments in the overdub process to: electric guitar (with a volume pedal), tambourine and percussion . In the end, more vocals were recorded.

Wait appeared on December 3, 1965 on page 2 of the Rubber Soul album . A single was not released. Cover versions have appeared by Frankie Vaughan and the couple Sam Lakeman and Cara Dillon , among others .
