The XXV Italiacom Open 2012 was a tennis clay court tournament for women in Palermo . They were part of the WTA Tour 2012 as a tournament in the International category . The tournament took place from July 9th to 15th, 2012.

The defending champion in the singles was Anabel Medina Garrigues , but she was eliminated in the first round, the singles won by the top seeded Italian Sara Errani . Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci were defending champions in doubles , but they both only competed in singles, with the top seeded Czechs Renata Voráčová and Barbora Záhlavová-Strýcová winning .

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs.
