The Brisbane International 2013 was a tennis hard court tournament for women in Brisbane . It was part of the 2013 WTA Tour as a premier category tournament . The tournament took place from December 28, 2012 to January 5, 2013.

The defending champion in singles was Kaia Kanepi and in doubles the pairing Nuria Llagostera Vives and Arantxa Parra Santonja .

The individual winner was Serena Williams with a clear 6: 2, 6: 1 over the unseeded Russian Anastassija Pawljutschenkowa . Williams thus celebrated the 47th title win of her career at the start of the year. The pair won the pairing Bethanie Mattek-Sands / Sania Mirza against Anna-Lena Grönefeld / Květa Peschke with 4: 6, 6: 4, [10: 7].
