The Honghe Industrial China Open 2007 was a snooker tournament as part of the Snooker Main Tour of the 2006/07 season , which was held from March 25 to April 1, 2007 in Beijing. The main sponsor for the first time was the tobacco company Honghe Industrial.
The Welshman Mark Williams had won the previous year, but lost his opening match against the qualifier Jamie Cope . The Englishman then reached the final, where he met the reigning world champion Graeme Dott . With a 9: 5 victory, this won his second Main Tour title after the world championship.
Prize money / ranking points
The prize money increased by more than £ 25,000 from the previous year. All players benefited from this, from the winner, who got £ 5,000 more, to those who reached the third qualifying round and got £ 225 more than in 2007. In the world rankings , however, nothing changed.

Wildcard round
As in previous years, there were eight Chinese amateurs who received a wildcard from their association. At the start of the tournament, they were allowed to play in an additional round against the eight lowest-placed professionals from the qualification for participation in the main tournament. Five of the eight local players were able to prevail, more than ever before.
The games of the wildcard round were played on March 26th. Game mode for all games was Best of 9 .
Final roundThe top 16 of the world rankings were set for round 2 and played against the 8 winners of the wildcard round and the 8 other qualifiers from Prestatyn. kl. = without a fight finalJamie Cope had reached a final for the first time at the 2006 Grand Prix in the preseason . Graeme Dott was already in his sixth final and last won his first tournament at the World Cup in the fifth attempt. After an even start, Dott secured four frames in a row and went into the break with a 6-2 lead. In the evening session, Cope was able to make the connection to 5-6 before Dott was on the verge of victory with two century breaks in a row. The 14th frame was contested again, but in the end Cope had to give it up. The Scottish World Champion won his second title in professional snooker with a score of 9: 5.
qualificationThe qualifying games took place from January 22nd to 25th, 2008 in Prestatyn . In round 1, places 65 to 96 of the world rankings played against each other, the winners met in round 2 on places 49 to 64, in round 3 numbers 33 to 48 and in round 4 numbers 17 to 32. Century breaks16 players achieved 27 breaks of at least 100 points in the main tournament. A third of this went to the two finalists Graeme Dott and Jamie Cope .
