Dieffenthal is a French commune with 256 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) on the eastern edge of the Vosges in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ). The community is a member of the community association Communauté de communes de Sélestat .

An important branch of business is agriculture and especially viticulture, which is also reflected in the depiction of the coat of arms. The place is on the Alsace Wine Route, between Dambach-la-Ville in the north and Scherwiller in the south.

The departmental road D 38 leads east past the village. It is about eight kilometers to the seat of the sub-prefecture in Schlettstadt to the southeast .
