Nothalten is a French commune with 456 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the canton of Obernai in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ). Viticulture is an important industry .

geography

Emergency stop is located on the edge of the Vosges and on the Alsace Wine Route . The village's Muenchberg vineyard, with 17.7 hectares, is one of the Alsace Grand Cru locations.

history

From 1871 to the end of the First World War , Nothalten belonged to the German Empire as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine and was assigned to the Schlettstadt district in the Lower Alsace district .
