history
An early medieval spangenhelm was found near Baldenheim (today in the Archaeological Museum in Strasbourg ). These helmets were reserved for high-ranking people and so the find indicates an important power-political function of the place at that time.
From 1324 until the French Revolution , the village belonged to Württemberg . The Rathsamhausen zum Stein family received the place from Württemberg as a fief .
The Protestant village church was built in the 15th century.
