The place is east of Erstein . The river that touches Schaeffersheim in the north and in the east is called La Scheer .

- Saint-Léger church from the 18th century
- The Saint-Blaise chapel, which has been built over twice, dates back to 1371 and is the only remnant of the now no longer existing village of Battersheim.

Transport links
The two-lane Europastraße 25 and the Strasbourg - Colmar - Mulhouse railway line run between Schaeffersheim and Erstein and are operated by the TER Alsace company. Schaeffersheim has a connection to the E 25 as well as to the railway line ( Ouest-Gare / Westbahnhof ).
