Bayern League

The Bavarian Ice Hockey League is organized by the Bavarian Ice Sports Association .

Attendees

New in the league were the promoted Höchstadter EC and EV Moosburg. Due to the rise of ERV Schweinfurt and 1. EV Weiden in the Oberliga Süd , the non-relegation of TSV Erding from the Oberliga, the waiver of EA Schongau to remain in the Bayernliga and the failure of other teams from the regional league to move up, the league was in opposition Started in the preseason with 15 teams and from December 2012 - after the withdrawal of the ESV Königsbrunn team - played with 14 teams.

Participant of the Bayernliga 2012/13

mode

As in previous years, the league plays a single round. The first ten teams qualify for the subsequent intermediate round, which then play off two participants in the play-offs in two groups. The semi-finals and the game for third place will be played in “Best of Three” mode, while the final of the play-offs will be played out in “Best of Five” mode. Originally, the last five teams in the preliminary round should play the relegation round. While the winner of the relegation round would have qualified for the Bayern League, the remaining teams would have played the relegation semi-finals (2nd place against 5 and 3 against 4) in the "Best of Three" mode. The winners of the relegation semi-final would have played the positions 12 and 13 in the "Best of Three" mode, while the losers of the relegation semi-final would have played the relegation final according to the "Best of Five" mode. The loser of the relegation final would have been relegated to the national league . With the withdrawal of the team from ESV Königsbrunn in December 2012, the team’s games are no longer valued and the team has been determined to be relegated. Therefore, there will now be a relegation round as a single round (6 game days), the loser of which should be relegated.
