European Champion Clubs' Cup 1966/67

The European Cup of National Champions 1967/68 was the 13th edition of the competition. 32 club teams took part, including Celtic Glasgow as defending champions and national champions and a further 31 national champions from the previous season.

With Manchester United as the winner, the trophy went to England for the first time.

The participants played in a pure cup mode with (except for the finals) back and forth games for the crown of European club football. In the event of a tie, the away goals rule in the first two rounds and then an additional playoff should make the decision. Should this tie also result, a coin was tossed. The German champions Eintracht Braunschweig had to play in the quarter-finals against Juventus Turin in a play-off at Bern's Wankdorf Stadium. In the first leg, the Braunschweig team won 3-2 against the favored Italians. The unlucky fellow in this game was Braunschweig defender Peter Kaack , who scored two own goals and scored one goal to make it 1-1. In the second leg in Turin, the Italians won with a penalty goal in the last minute. The playoff went 1-0 to Juventus Turin.

The final took place on May 29, 1968 at Wembley Stadium in London in front of 100,000 spectators.
