Georg Kandolf

Georg Kandolf (born November 9, 1979 in Schladming ) is an Austrian cultural manager . Since 2015 he has been the artistic operations director and chief dispatcher at the Schauspielhaus Graz .

Life

Beginnings and training

Kandolf grew up in Stainach in Styria . He graduated from the BG / BRG Stainach and then completed his military service with the military music of the Guard Battalion Vienna under Hans Schadenbauer .

Kandolf had violin lessons with John R. Hauer (Music School Liezen ), Walter Erla (Landesmusikschule Bad Ischl ), Karl Vogt ( Johann Joseph Fux Conservatory Graz ) and private lessons with Prof. Christine Winkler (Vienna). He was also concertmaster of the Ennstal Youth Orchestra , a member of the Ennstal Chamber Orchestra and a member of the ensembles "Die Dampfnudl'n" and "push'n'funk" . Tours have taken him to Italy, Germany and the Netherlands. Kandolf studied law at the Karl-Franzens-University in Graz and worked during his studies as an assistant to the management at the international competition for cello in Liezen .

Georg Kandolf began his theater career in 2007 as an employee in the artistic management office and head of the extras at the Schauspielhaus Graz under director Anna Badora . In 2009 he took over the management of the artistic office. He worked with numerous directors, such as B. Pia Hierzegger , Viktor Bodó , Claudia Bauer , Ingo Berk, Christine Eder , Christina Rast , Bernadette Sonnenbichler , Patrick Schlösser , Tom Kühnel , Anna Badora, Georg Schmiedleitner , Franz Wittenbrink , Peter Konwitschny , Anna-Sophia Mahler, Tobias Kratzer , Götz Spielmann , Mariano Pensotti, Theu Boermans , Danielle Strahm, Boris Nikitin , Elmar Goerden , Bastian Kraft , Helmut Köpping , Barbara-David Brüesch , Sarantos Zervoulakos, Wojtek Klemm, Michael Simon , Fritz Ostermayer , Alexandra Liedtke , Yael Ronen , Sebastian Schug, Christiane Pohle , Oliver Frljić , Katrin Hiller , Walter Meierjohann and Krystian Lupa . During this first time in Graz, Kandolf also made appearances as a stage musician in the series “whodunit” alongside Susanne Konstanze Weber and the later Nestroy Prize winner Steffi Krautz. In 2013, Kandolf brought the 34th meeting of dispatchers for German-speaking theaters to Austria for the first time.

In 2013, Kandolf was hired by director Stephan Märki to be responsible for the artistic management office at the Swiss multi-part theater Konzert Theater Bern . In this function he worked with opera director Xavier Zuber , director of dance Estefania Miranda , drama director Iris Laufenberg and chief conductor and artistic director of the Bern Symphony Orchestra Mario Venzago . In addition, with many other well-known artists such as Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla , Nanine Linning, Markus Bothe, Lisa Nielebock , Till Wyler von Ballmoos , Stephan Rottkamp , Volker Hesse , Jan-Christoph Gockel , Jetske Mijnssen, Mara Kurotschka, Lydia Steier, Ludger Engels , Miriam Clark, Martin Fröst , Sol Gabetta , Jesko Sirvend, Kit Armstrong , Franco Fagioli , Sabine Meyer , Uwe Schönbeck, Elia Rediger Maricel Álvarez, Emilio García Wehbi, Nigel Lowery, Albrecht Puhlmann , Cordula Däuper, Adriana Altaras , Conrad Tao, Martin Grubinger , Aris Argiris , Pavel Shmulevich, Christina Daletska , Jörg Dürmüller , Davide Fersini, Evgenia Grekova , Mark Milhofer and Allison Oakes. During the time in Bern, there were guest tours to the Mülheim Theater Days, the Heidelberg Stückemarkt, the Berlin Author Theater Days and to Winterthur.

In 2015, artistic director Iris Laufenberg brought him  back to Austria as artistic operations director and chief dispatcher . Kandolf is responsible for the scheduling of the schedule for the three standard stages (HAUS EINS, HAUS ZWEI and HAUS DREI) as well as all external venues and also for the programming of guest performances. He works continuously with renowned artists, including Nikolaus Habjan , Johannes Silberschneider , Roland Neuwirth , Karl Markovics , Gottlieb Wallisch , Manuela Linshalm , Michael Köhlmeier , Hans Theessink , Adele Neuhauser , Joachim Meyerhoff , Daniel Glattauer , Deniz Yücel , Maria Bill , Willi Resetarits , Stubnblues , Peter Simonischek , Heinz Marecek , Manuel Rubey , Schiffkowitz , Günther Paal , Markus Schirmer , Gerald Votava , Der Nino from Vienna , Rainer Hauer , Ernst Molden , Wolf Haas , Christian Gansch , Folke Tegetthoff , Clemens J. Setz , David Linx , Jazz Bigband Graz , Yasmin Hafedh , Johannes Floehr , Friedrich Herrmann , radio.string.quartet , Stefan Sterzinger , Gerhard Balluch , Martin Brachvogel and Vesna Petkovic together.

Teaching

Kandolf teaches regularly as a guest lecturer at the Career Service Center of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz .
