Hammond is a town in Aroostook County in the state of Maine in the United States . Hamlin is near the Canadian border . In 2010, 118 people lived there in 62 households on an area of 101.5 km². Due to its small population, Hammond does not have its own local government, so it is from nearby Houlton .

The town of Hammond is located in the southeast of Aroostook County, near the border with Canada. In the southwest is the B Lake , there are some other, smaller barrel areas. The area of the town is crossed by smaller streams. The surface is rather flat, the highest point being the 286 m high Carmichael Ridge in the northwest of Hammond.

history
The original name of the area was Township Letter B, Second Range West of the Easterly Line of the State (TBR2 WELS) . The area was first organized on November 21, 1885, and this was confirmed on March 5, 1895. Hammond was promoted to town in 1977.
