I Love Techno is a major annual event on the electronic music scene. It initially took place annually at the Flanders Expo in Ghent , Belgium , and since 2016 in Montpellier, France. The event is divided into six different areas, different bars and a cinema on 50,000 m². In addition to the main floor and a chill-out lounge, there are five other areas that are named after colors and the light installation and decoration are designed accordingly. The individual halls are named Blue Floor, Green Floor, Orange Floor, Red Floor and Yellow Floor. Each of these floors offers space for approx. 5000 people. In addition to Belgian DJs and live acts , world-famous greats from the electronic music scene perform every year (see section DJs and live acts / bands ).

history

The first so-called rave under this name took place in 1995 in the Vooruit in Ghent with 700 visitors. The organizer was Peter Decuypere, who also successfully ran the Technoclub FUSE in Brussels. Years later, due to an unexpectedly large increase in visitors, the event moved to the Expo Park, also in Ghent. In 2003 there was also an open air festival under the same name in the industrial park Balendijk in Lommel , Belgium. Due to the low number of visitors (including the indoor edition that followed in autumn), the idea was not continued. In 2010 the event celebrated its fifteenth anniversary. Every year between 33,000 and 35,000 people visit the event.
