Isle ( Isla in Occitan ) is a municipality in France with 7696 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the north-western Massif Central . It belongs to the department of Haute-Vienne and region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . Isle is part of the Arrondissement of Limoges and the Canton of Limoges-9 . The inhabitants are called Islois (es) .
geography
Isle is on the Vienne and Aurence rivers . The neighboring communities of Isle are Limoges in the north and northeast, Condat-sur-Vienne in the east and south, Bosmie-l'Aiguille in the west and Verneuil-sur-Vienne in the north-west.
The Route nationale 21 runs through the municipality from Limoges via Bergerac to Agen .
