List of street names in Oberkotzau
The list of street names of Oberkotzau provides an overview of the street names of the Upper Franconian market Oberkotzau .
In addition to the main town of Oberkotzau, there are the districts of Autengrün , Fattigau , Haideck , Herrenlohe, Lerchenberg, Pfaffengrün and Wustuben . Autengrün and Fattigau have had several street names of their own since December 1, 1998, which are also indicated in the list.
Historically, the main town of Oberkotzau was created as a merger of the villages of Kotzau, Schwandewitz and Saaldorf. The center of Kotzau was the castle and the church . Schwandewitz was north of the Schwesnitz and Saaldorf was west of the Saale . At Autengrün there are indications of desertification with a Graumbühl settlement that existed until the beginning of the 17th century and the Erbsbühl farmstead that was inhabited until the beginning of the 20th century .
Many streets are named as major roads to the large and small neighboring towns, other street names go on field names back or are related to natural events. Especially in the center of the town, street names refer to prominent buildings such as a church , castle or town hall. Other street names refer to regions of the displaced people who settled in the village after the end of the war. Particularly systematic building areas have a common theme with regard to street names, such as the mountains of the Waldstein range or the Fichtelgebirge , famous physicists , aviation pioneers , poets or composers . The honor of famous aviation pioneers also recognizes pioneering achievements in the construction of aircraft in Oberkotzau at the beginning of the 20th century and is an expression of the enthusiasm for various zeppelin crossings , among others. a. also by captain Georg Hacker . In addition to the nationally known poet Jean Paul , the factory owner Lorenz Summa and the community chief secretary and chronicler Heinrich Lörner were honored with a street name as local personalities .
