The Mauchenmühle nature reserve is located in the districts of Mühlhausen (municipality of Eberhardzell , district of Biberach ) and Unterschwarzach (city of Bad Wurzach , district of Ravensburg ) in Baden-Württemberg . The 11.6 hectare area south of the B 465 , southeast of Mühlhausen, southwest of Ampfelbronn (a hamlet that belongs to Mühlhausen) and north of Mauchenmühle (part of the municipality of Bad Wurzach) has been designated as a nature reserve since July 15, 1980. The Umlach , a right tributary of the Riss, flows on the western edge of the nature reserve .
