The Menominee County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State Wisconsin . In 2010 the county had 4,232 residents and a population density of 4.6 people per square kilometer. By 2013 the population increased to 4317. The administrative seat ( county seat ) is Keshena , which was named after an Indian chief.
geography
The county is located in northeastern Wisconsin and about 70 km to the east from Green Bay on Lake Michigan . It has an area of 945 square kilometers, of which 18 square kilometers are water.
From north to south the county is traversed by the Wolf River , which is part of the catchment area of Lake Michigan via the Fox River and Lake Winnebago .

Menominee County was formed in 1961 from parts of the Menominee Indian Reservation. It was named after the indigenous people of the Menominee .

According to the 2010 census , Menominee County had 4,232 people in 1,284 households. The population density was 4.6 inhabitants per square kilometer. Statistically, 3.28 people lived in each of the 1284 households.
The racial the population was composed of 12.2 percent white, 0.7 percent African American, 85.1 percent Native American, 0.1 percent Asian and other ethnic groups; 1.8 percent were descended from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 5.2 percent of the population.
32.4 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 55.2 percent were between 18 and 64 and 12.4 percent were 65 years or older. 50.3 percent of the population were female.
