1st Lig 1964/65

The 1st Lig 1965/66 was the eighth season of the top Turkish league in men's football . It began on September 4, 1965 and ended on May 29, 1966.

Beşiktaş Istanbul became the master . Şeker and Beykozspor were relegated to the season.

Gençlerbirliği Ankara made it as the first team that did not come from Istanbul to finish the season in the top three since the existence of the Süper Lig . The previous seasons made the three clubs from Istanbul - Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray - the three first places among themselves.

The season was very even. The teams from 6th place to 15th place (relegation place) were only separated from each other by four points in the final table.

mode

The 16 clubs played twice against each other on 30 match days, divided into a round trip. The two bottom of the table were relegated.
