The Škoda Fabia is a small car from the Czech automaker Škoda Auto, which is part of the Volkswagen Group .

The Škoda Fabia came onto the market in December 1999 as the successor to the Škoda Felicia and is based on the same platform as the VW Polo 9N and the Seat Ibiza 6L (PQ 24). The body of the car was completely developed by Škoda, as was the three-cylinder petrol engine. This is also used in polo. Production takes place in Mladá Boleslav . In 2000 and 2008, the Škoda Fabia was voted the “most popular import car” by readers of over 100 regional weekly newspapers in the new federal states ; The titles were awarded at the AMI in Leipzig.

New registrations in Germany

The number of annual new registrations in Germany is listed according to statistics from the Federal Motor Transport Authority . From 2007 to 2011, the Fabia was the import car with the most new registrations in Germany. In 2009, in the year of the environmental bonus , the Fabia was the first import car to achieve a six-digit number of new registrations in a calendar year with 103,645 new registrations (market share 2.72%). According to the final report of the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control , 81,648 Škoda Fabia were newly registered between January 27, 2009 and July 31, 2010 using the environmental bonus. This made the Fabia, after the VW Golf and Jetta, the car model that benefited the second most from the environmental bonus.
