Spechtsberg is located in the northwest of Lohmar. Surrounding villages and hamlets are Scheid in the north, Wahlscheid in the northeast, east and southeast, Schiffarth and Oberscheid in the south, Neuenhof in the west and Dachskuhl and Schiefelbusch in the northwest.

Waters

A nameless stream flows orographically to the right of the Agger just behind the so-called Aggerbogen. To the east of the mountain slope of Spechtsberg arise other, very small springs that flow into the Agger.
