Sportsman of the year 1983 (Germany)

The athletes of the year 1983 in the Federal Republic of Germany were honored on December 3rd in the Palais am Funkturm in West Berlin . The election was organized for the 37th time by the Internationale Sport-Korrespondenz (ISK). The 19-year-old winner in the men's category, Michael Groß, and the athlete Ulrike Meyfarth in the women's category were named athletes of the year as in the previous year. The handball players from VfL Gummersbach prevailed among the teams.
