Sri Lankan national cricket team in New Zealand for the 2014-15 season

The tour of the Sri Lankan Cricket Team in New Zealand in the 2014/15 season took place from December 26 2014 to January 29, 2015. The international cricket tour was part of the 2014/15 international cricket season and included two test matches and seven ODIs . New Zealand won the test series 2-0 and the ODI series 4-2. The first test match at the Hagley Oval was the first major sporting event in the city since the Christchurch earthquake in February 2011 .

prehistory

classification

Sri Lanka had previously hosted England , where they also played and won seven ODIs there. New Zealand previously played a full tour in the United Arab Emirates against Pakistan. After the tour ended, the Sri Lankan national team stayed in New Zealand as the 2015 Cricket World Cup began on February 14th, hosted by Australia and New Zealand. There they played the opening game in which New Zealand prevailed. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place the year before in Sri Lanka .

The following stages were designated as the venue for the tour and were set on June 3, 2014. The Hagley Oval in Wellington celebrated its debut as a test stadium.
