Windmühle (colloquially: "Windmil") is a district of the independent city of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .
geography
Today the wasteland is house number 1 on Rummelsberger Straße, which runs parallel to Bundesstraße 14 and joins it 150 meters southwest and 300 meters northeast. Immediately to the west of the property is Heimweg (= Rummelsberger Str. 11), immediately north of the Rabenhof , behind it the Urlas corridor with a US Army firing range .
history
Like Heimweg and Rabenhof , the place was founded by Karl Heinrich Ritter von Lang . The place was first mentioned by name in 1809. It was named after a former windmill that stood about one kilometer west of the Drechselsgarten, but whose operation was stopped due to inefficiency. In 1823 the landlord Georg Michael Stadelmann bought the Zur Windmühle estate.
Windmühle belonged to the rural community of Hennenbach , which was founded in 1811 . On July 1, 1972, it was incorporated into Ansbach as part of the regional reform .
