This is a list of mountains ordered by their topographic prominence.

There are different definitions of the parent of a peak. Where a single parent is listed, the different definitions agree; where two are given, the prominence parent is marked "1", and the island parent "²". For definitions of the terms prominence parent and island parent, see topographic prominence.

Note: artificial saddle points, such as the Panama and Suez canals, are not taken into account. The prominences and parents of Denali and Kilimanjaro remain as they were before these canals were constructed, although not all researchers agree with this practice.

Of the 109 peaks listed in this section, China has the most, 14. Close behind it are Indonesia with 12, and the United States with 11.
