Čtveřín (German Stwerschin , also Stwerzin ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is four kilometers west of Turnov and belongs to the Okres Liberec .

geography

Čtveřín is located between the valleys of the streams Čtveřínský potok and Ohrazenický potok in the Turnovská pahorkatina ( Turnauer hill country ). To the north rises the Doubí hill (316 m). In the north the village is bypassed by the Pardubice – Liberec railway line , the nearest railway station Doubí u Turnova is in the Doubí district. The R 10 / E 65 expressway passes to the south, and the Ohrazenice 71/44 junction to the R 35 / E 442 expressway is in the northeast .

Neighboring towns are Doubí in the north, Lažany in the northeast, Ohrazenice in the east, Nudvojovice in the southeast, Přepeře in the south, Příšovice in the southwest, Svijanský Újezd in the west and Pěnčín and Kamenec in the northwest.

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1394.

After the abolition of patrimonial Štveřín formed from 1850 with the districts Doubí, Husa and Sychrov a municipality in the political district of Turnov . During the German War in June 1866 there was fighting between Prussians and Austrians near Štveřín. The village has been called Čtveřín since 1919 .

At the beginning of 1961 the district of Sychrov was raised to a municipality and Čtveřín was incorporated there. At the same time it was assigned to the Okres Liberec. The Čtveřín municipality has existed again since 1990. The most striking building is the former school, which today houses the municipal office.

The municipality Čtveřín consists of the districts Čtveřín ( Stwerschin ) and Doubí ( Dauby ).
