Zdislava (German Schönbach ) is a minority with 268 inhabitants in the Czech Republic . It is located 12 kilometers west of the city center of Liberec in the Jeschken Mountains . The cadastral area is 980 ha.

geography

Zdislava extends at the foot of the Velký Vápenný ( Great Limestone Mountain , 790 m) at 425 m above sea level. M. on a hillside along the Zdislavský potok, which forms a basin here with other tributaries, which is surrounded by hills and forests. The railway connection from Liberec to Jablonné v Podještědí runs through the village . To the east lies the ridge of the Jeschkengebirge with the Zdislavský Špičák (683 m), Malý Vápenný (687 m) and Lom (682 m).

Neighboring towns are Jítrava in the north, Kryštofovo Údolí in the east, Křižany and Žibřidice in the south and Janovice and Nová Starost in the west.

history

Schönbach was first mentioned in a document in 1406. In 1848, 1160 people lived in the place. In 1906 Schönbach was raised to a market town and was given the right to use a coat of arms. In the 20th century, the population initially fell slightly. The expulsion of the German population after the Second World War could not be compensated, so that the number of residents finally shrank to a quarter.

In 1946, the town was granted by the Holy. Zdislava of Lemberk the name Zdislava . Zdislava has been an independent municipality again since 1990 and a minority since October 19, 2016.
