The settlement took place around 1109 on the western side of the valley and in the second half of the 14th century the eastern side was also settled. Originally the whole village consisted of wooden houses with shingle roofs.
After the Battle of Lipan , the settlement of Stráňov was established in 1434 as a hiding place for Taborites and Sirotci . It was named after its leader and there was a sacrificial tent at the Zlatý stůl .
After the abolition of patrimonial Sebeslavice formed together with the district Padařovice from 1850 a municipality in the political district Turnov . The municipality had 453 inhabitants in 1900 and 269 in 1950. In 1961 the village was reclassified to Okres Liberec. 1980 Soběslavice was incorporated into Pěnčín . The community has existed again since 1990.
