Cetenov (German Zetten ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located six kilometers west of Český Dub and belongs to the Okres Liberec .

geography

Cetenov is located south of the Jeschkengebirge in the Ralská pahorkatina ( Rollberg hill country ) between the Zábrdka valley and the basin of the Lesnovský potok, which rises in the Hrubý Lesnov district. Jelínka ( Jellinkaberg , 504 m) rises to the northeast .

Neighboring towns are Dehtáry and Dolánky in the north, Hrubý Lesnov in the northeast, Všelibice in the east, Lesnovek in the southeast, Vystrkov and Vápno in the south, Končiny in the southwest and Na Pince, Těšnov and Náhlov in the northwest. To the west of the village, on the right side of the Zábrdka , are the deserted villages of Křída, Palohlavy, Novina and Medný, which were extinguished by the Ralsko military training area.

history

The first written mention of Zetten can be found in the castle law registers of the city of Aicha introduced in 1536 by Johann von Wartenberg . The important trade route from Prague to Zittau led via Zetten, Vystrkov and Hrubý Lesnov . The village was on the German-Czech language border.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Cetnov / Zetten 1850 with the districts Dehtáry, Dolánky and Těšnov a municipality in the political district Česká Lípa . In 1900 65 people lived in the eleven houses of the village of Zetten. In 1930 the community had 254 inhabitants, most of whom belonged to the Czech ethnic group.

After the Munich Agreement , the municipality was added to the German Reich in 1938. It belonged to the district of Böhmisch Leipa until May 1, 1939 and was then reclassified to the district of Reichenberg . In 1939 the community of Zetten had 202 inhabitants.

After the end of World War II, Cetenov returned to Czechoslovakia and was assigned to the Okres Turnov in 1946. At that time, the Ralsko military training area was built west of the municipality , which is why all villages on the right side of the Zábrdka with the exception of Těšnov were cleared and demolished. At the beginning of 1961 the Okres Turnov was dissolved and Cetenov was assigned to the Okres Liberec . In 1980 it was incorporated into Všelibice . Since 1990 the community exists again, at the same time Hrubý Lesnov and Vystrkov were added as districts. Due to its remote location, far from all main roads and railway connections, the community lost many inhabitants in the 20th century.
