Lažany (German Laschan ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located four kilometers northwest of the city center of Turnov on the city limits and belongs to the Okres Liberec .
geography
Lažany is located between the valleys of the creeks Čtveřínský potok and Ohrazenický potok in the Turnovská pahorkatina ( Turnauer hill country ). Lažany is located at the southeastern foot of the Doubí hill (316 m). In the west and south the village is bypassed by the Pardubice – Liberec railway line , the nearest railway station Doubí u Turnova is one kilometer northwest of the village. The R 10 / E 65 expressway passes to the south and the R 35 / E 442 expressway to the east . The junction Ohrazenice 71/44, where both expressways meet, is located southeast of Lažany.
Neighboring towns are Husa , Paceřice and Kozice in the north, Červený Dvůr and Malý Rohozec in the northeast, Hrubý Rohozec in the east, Ohrazenice , Daliměřice and Nudvojovice in the southeast, Přepeře in the south, Čtveřín in the southwest, Pěnčín and Kamenec in the north.
history
The village was first mentioned in a document in 1397. The residents of the village lived from growing vegetables and were known for their Laschan pickles.
After the abolition of patrimonial Lažany formed from 1850 a district of the municipality Ohrazenice in the political district Turnov . During the German War in June 1866 there was fighting between Prussians and Austrians near Lažany. In 1877 the political municipality of Lažan was established . After the dissolution of Okres Turnov, Lažany came to Okres Liberec in 1961 and was also incorporated into Sychrov . The municipality of Lažany has existed again since 1990. Today the place consists of 70 houses.
