Černousy , until 1924 Černohousy , (German Tschernhausen ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It belongs to the North Bohemian Okres Liberec and lies in the Jizera foothills .

history

Černousy railway station

The place was first mentioned in writing in 1385, when the noble Heynecke lived there. For a long time, the village was owned by village nobles of different sexes. The Rackwitzer , Kottwitzer , Gersdorffer , Miltitzer and Schweinichener took turns . In the years 1663–1664 the Italian Gallas family bought the estate.

After the Thirty Years' War 39 people lived in this village. A fire in 1671 severely affected the village. In the course of the Counter Reformation in 1677, the residents were imprisoned by missionaries and soldiers. The population pretended to be Catholic, but fled to Lausitz after eight days . But the place recovered from it. In 1792 here 32 estate whose residents mainly were Vorwerk family Clam-Gallas worked. The place belonged from the middle of the 19th century to the judicial district Friedland or the district Friedland .

For a long time Tschernhausen lay in the shadow of the village of Wiese, not even a church or school existed. With the construction of the Reichenberg – Seidenberg (–Görlitz) railway in 1875, this situation changed.

Ves-Zawidów border crossing

Tschernhausen was the last stop on the Bohemian side and a traffic center for the whole area. Due to the good transport connections, the company Christoph & Unmack relocated its factory of transportable barracks , which burned down in 1915 , from Bunzendorf to the Tschernhausen railway station, where the required wood from the Jizera Mountains could be brought directly by train. Interstate traffic reached a peak in 1950 when a freight train passed through the town almost every two hours.

After the Munich Agreement , the place was added to the German Empire and belonged to the Friedland district until 1945 .

Until their expulsion in 1945, the population consisted mainly of German Bohemia . After 1945, Czechs in particular moved to Černousy from the interior.

On September 1, 1990, Černousy separated from Višňová after a ten-year merger .

In April 2006, the pedestrian border crossing to Zawidów was opened north of the Ves district . Since then, after 61 years, the residents of Ves have again had a direct connection to the Wittig reservoir. The border crossing is now (as of 2019) a continuously paved road open to public road traffic.
