↑ Handball Bundesliga 2015/16 |
The 2nd handball Bundesliga 2015/16 is the fifth of the single-track seasons and the 35th season of the second highest German division in men's handball in the history of the 2nd Bundesliga . 21 teams play for promotion to the top German division. The season starts on August 22, 2015 and ends on June 4, 2016.
mode
Due to the fact that HSV Hamburg stayed in the first division in the last season , 4 teams were relegated, so this season 21 teams are playing in the " everyone against everyone " mode with one home and one away game. The top three will be promoted to the handball Bundesliga 2016/17 and the last four will be relegated to the 3rd division . In the event of a tie, the better goal difference decides. If the goal difference is the same, there will be playoffs. Since the nominal strength of the league is 20 teams, a license withdrawal or license waiver of a team that is on a non-relegation place will not be counted towards the athletically relegated teams until the above. Target strength is reached again.
Moved up and down
Newcomers from the 3rd division in 2014/15 are Wilhelmshavener HV , HF Springe (North Staffel), TuS Ferndorf and VfL Eintracht Hagen (West Staffel). The Springer handball fans are playing in the second highest division for the first time.
Relegated from the handball Bundesliga 2014/15 are SG BBM Bietigheim , HC Erlangen , TSG Friesenheim and GWD Minden .
HC Erlangen is the champion and first to be promoted to the handball Bundesliga 2016/17 in the 2nd division . The other climbers are GWD Minden and HSC 2000 Coburg .
The VfL Eintracht Hagen , the TSV Bayer Dormagen and SV Henstedt-Ulzburg could not make it in the league. The HF Springe will put the fourth relegated in the 3rd division in 2016/17 , as he was refused his license for the next season.
