history

Assumption University began its work as an autonomous educational institution in 1969 when the Assumption Commercial College (ACC) was transformed into the Assumption School of Business (ASB). In 1972 she became Assumption Business Administration College (ABAC).

In 1990 the University Department granted the institution university status and named it Assumption University. In 1999 the university opened its Bang Na campus in Bang Sao Thong district , Samut Prakan province , about 40 kilometers east of central Bangkok on the Bang Na Expressway . It includes the 38-story "Cathedral of Learning" and a three-part ensemble of 13-story student dormitories. The architecture of the complex is inspired by the European Gothic and Renaissance . In connection with the opening of the Bangkok – Suvarnabhumi Airport , it was renamed the Suvarnabhumi Campus . It is surrounded by a landscaped garden, which is why Assumption University is also known as the "University in the Park".
