Champigny is a French commune in the north-east of the country with 1,493 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017). It is located in the Marne department in the Grand Est region . Saint-Brice-Courcelles belongs to the Reims arrondissement and is part of the canton of Reims-4 (until 2015: canton of Reims-8 ).
Geographical location
Champigny is located in the center of Champagne as a banlieue on the western edge of Reims . The northern border of the municipality is the Vesle river . Champigny is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Merfy in the north, Saint-Brice-Courcelles in the east, Tinqueux in the southeast, Thillois in the south and west and Châlons-sur-Vesle in the north-west.
The A26 autoroute runs through the municipality .
