Chanu is a French commune with 1,257 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Orne in the region of Normandy . It belongs to the Argentan arrondissement and is part of the canton of Domfront (until 2015: canton of Tinchebray ). The inhabitants are called Chanusiens .
geography
Chanu is about seven kilometers west-southwest of Flers . Chanu is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Landisacq in the north, Saint-Paul in the east and northeast, La Chapelle-Biche in the east and southeast, Saint-Clair-de-Halouze in the southeast and Tinchebray-Bocage in the south and west.
