Edward W. Pattison

Edward Worthington Pattison (born April 29, 1932 in Troy , New York , †  August 22, 1990 in West Sand Lake , New York) was an American politician . Between 1975 and 1979 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Edward Pattison graduated from Albany Academy in 1949 . He then studied until 1953 at Cornell University in Ithaca . Between 1954 and 1956 he served in the US Army . After studying law at Cornell University and being admitted to the bar in 1957, he began working in this profession in Troy. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Party . In 1970 he ran unsuccessfully for Congress . Between 1970 and 1975 he was a treasurer in Rensselaer County . In 1973 his candidacy for the office of the local district council failed.

In the 1974 congressional election , Pattison was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the 29th  constituency of New York , where he succeeded Republican Carleton J. King, who had resigned three days earlier, on January 3, 1975 . After re-election, he was able to complete two terms in Congress until January 3, 1979 . In 1978 he was not re-confirmed. After the end of his time in the US House of Representatives, Pattison no longer appeared politically. He died on August 22, 1990 in West Sand Lake.
