Ephraim is a male given name that goes back to the tradition of the biblical tribe Ephraim .
Origin and meaning
The name Ephraim ( Hebrew אֶפְרַיִם efrájim) comes from Hebrew and means "doubly fruitful". This is how the Bible refers to the younger son of the patriarch Joseph . Although common since the Reformation, the name never became popular in Germany and is very rare today.
