Fontenay is a French commune with 1,240 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Seine-Maritime in the region Normandy . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Le Havre and the Canton of Octeville-sur-Mer (until 2015: Canton of Montivilliers ). The inhabitants are called Fontenaysia .

geography

Fontenay is about nine kilometers northeast of Le Havre . Fontenay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Mannevillette in the north, Rolleville in the east and northeast, Montivilliers in the south, Octeville-sur-Mer in the west and Cauville-sur-Mer in the northwest.
