It belongs to the arrondissement of Le Havre and the canton of Fécamp (until 2015 Valmont ). The inhabitants are called Ancrettevillois .

Ancretteville-sur-Mer is located about 43 kilometers northeast of Le Havre near the Atlantic coast ( English Channel ). Ancretteville-sur-Mer is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Pierre-en-Port in the north, Sassetot-le-Mauconduit in the east, Angerville-la-Martel in the south and Écretteville-sur-Mer in the west.
