It belongs to the arrondissement of Le Havre and the canton of Saint-Romain-de-Colbosc (until 2015 Goderville ). The inhabitants are called Houquetotais .

Houquetot is located about 26 kilometers northeast of Le Havre in the Pays de Caux . Houquetot is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Manneville-la-Goupil in the north and north-west, Bréauté in the north and east, Beuzeville-la-Grenier in the south-east, Parc-d'Anxtot in the south and Virville in the north-west.
