The Football League Third Division 1926/27 was the seventh season of the third highest English football league . The division, which is divided into north and south seasons, had their two champions, FC Stoke and Bristol City, and at the same time promoted to the Football League Second Division . For the two promoted teams in the following third division season 1927/28, the two second division clubs FC Darlington and Bradford City, which are ranked in the table below, took their places. Both relegated teams were placed in the northern division and FC Walsall moved "to the south". From both third division seasons only Aberdare Athletic had to relegate athletically. For Aberdare, Torquay United was added to the third division. The remaining lower-placed northern clubs Accrington Stanley and AFC Barrow as well as Watford FC in the south received enough votes in the reelection process of the league association to be allowed to participate again in the third division in the following season 1927/28.
