French Rugby Union Championship 2006/07
The 2006/07 season was the 108th edition of the French Rugby Union Championship. It comprised 14 teams in the top division Top 14 and 16 teams in the second highest division Pro D2 .
Top 14
The regular season of the Top 14 had 26 game days (one first and one second round). It began on August 18, 2006 and lasted until May 26, 2007. The four best-placed teams qualified for the semi-finals. In the final, which took place on June 9, 2007 in the Stade de France , the semi-final winners played for the Bouclier de Brennus championship trophy . Here triumphed Stade Français against ASM Clermont Auvergne and won the league title for the 13th time. The teams in the last two places, the SU Agen and the RC Narbonne , had to relegate to the Pro D2.

Pro D2
The regular season of the Pro D2 consisted of 30 game days (one first and one second round). It began on September 2, 2006 and lasted until May 13, 2007. The top-ranked team, FC Auch , rose straight away. The teams in places 2 to 5 contested a playoff for the second promotion place, which the US Dax was able to secure on May 27th. Two teams had to relegate to the amateur league Fédérale 1 : The US Colomiers in last place, the UA Gaillac for financial reasons (the penultimate team USA Limoges escaped relegation).
