Gisela Engelin-Hommes
Gisela Engelin-Hommes , also Gisela Hommes (born October 8, 1931 in Trier ; † July 3, 2017 ), was a German sculptor .
Life
Gisela Hommes was born on October 8, 1931 in Trier. From 1948 to 1949 she studied sculpture at the Werkkunstschule Trier . 1951 to 1953 she studied sculpture at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Freiburg im Breisgau , which was a branch of the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe . From 1953 she had her own studio in Breisach am Rhein . In 1954 she married her fellow student from Freiburg, Karl Heinz Engelin, and from then on called herself Gisela Engelin-Hommes. With him she had a house with a studio in Breisach from 1955 to 1958 at Straße Fischerhalde 66.
From 1959 she shared a studio with Karl Heinz Engelin in the Hamburg district of St. Georg at Hansaplatz 14, and from 1968 until at least 1982 in Barkhausenweg 6 in Hamburg-Hummelsbüttel . Karl Heinz Engelin, with whom she had a daughter and two sons, died on December 1, 1986. Gisela Engelin-Hommes, who was a member of the Professional Association of Visual Artists , created at least 27 in Hamburg on commissions for art in buildings or art in public spaces Bronze sculptures . She is represented with sculptures in the collections of the SAGA Group and the United Hamburg Housing Cooperative as well as in the Block Collection in Hamburg, at least at the Block Group's headquarters at Lademannbogen 127 in Hamburg-Hummelsbüttel. It is also represented with one or more exhibits in the Filmmuseum Potsdam . Her sculptures to stand at least three image foundries pour in the art foundry Schmäke in Dusseldorf , the art foundry Hermann Noack in Berlin and the art foundry Richard Barth in Rinteln , which was also based in Berlin 1970th
Gisela Engelin-Hommes died on July 3, 2017. Her last address was Gluckstrasse 67 in Hamburg-Barmbek-Süd .
