Gregor Anton Rutz (born October 12, 1972 in Zurich ; resident in Zollikon and Wildhaus SG ) is a Swiss politician ( SVP ).

Rutz studied at the Zurich University of Law . From 2000 to 2005 he was a member of the Constitutional Council of the Canton of Zurich , from 2001 to 2008 Secretary General and Managing Director of the SVP. Alongside President Ueli Maurer and SVP parliamentary group chairman Caspar Baader, he was the third head of the SVP Switzerland trio. From 2011, Rutz was a member of the Cantonal Council in the Canton of Zurich.

With the resignation of National Councilor Bruno Zuppiger on September 10, 2012, Rutz moved up to the Swiss National Council . Rutz took up his new office in Bern at the beginning of the December session; the swearing-in ceremony took place on November 26, 2012. For this he resigned as a cantonal councilor.

Rutz is the owner of an agency for communication consulting and public relations (since 2008) and president of the Swiss Association of Tobacco Trade. He is married and lives in Zollikon.
