The Harvestehuder Tennis and Hockey Club ( HTHC ) was created on May 15, 1919 through the merger of the Harvestehuder Hockey Club (HHC) and the Harvestehuder Lawn Tennis Club (HLTC). The HLTC was founded in 1891 and played on Rothenbaumchaussee, where the club's facilities on the Alster are today . The HHC, which was established in 1904, initially used the same site, leasing the site at Vossberg / Barmbeker Strasse from 1913. Today the club in Hamburg has two locations, the Vossberg and a facility in Langenhorn . Lacrosse has also been offered at the HTHC since 2002 , the HTHC Hamburg Warriors with a total of eight teams in the youth and adult sector form an important division at the HTHC. The first European Cup of national champions in women's field hockey was held and won by the club in 1974.
hockey
Both in field hockey and in indoor hockey , the women's and men's teams play in the 1st Bundesliga . A total of 20 German championship titles were won by the women and men teams of the HTHC. Only the Berlin HC with 21 and the Rüsselsheim RK with 23 championships are more successful nationwide. However, the women of the HTHC are clearly the sole record champions with 14 field titles. The women of the HTHC became German indoor hockey champions in 2007 with a 6: 4 win in the final against Rot-Weiß Köln in the Alsterdorfer Sporthalle in Hamburg and in February 2008 they won the European indoor hockey championship with a 6: 0 final victory the Spanish champions Club de Campo Villa de Madrid .
In February 2014, the men's hockey team first won the European Indoor Hockey Cup against Russian representative Dinamo Yekaterinburg . In April, the victory in the EHL - comparable to the Champions League in football - took place against the Dutch top club Oranje Zwart . In May the German championship on the field against Rot-Weiß Köln was won for the first time since 2000 . The HTHC was the first German team to win the historically unique triple in hockey.

ice Hockey
As early as 1936, a team from the HTHC took part in what was then the Gaume Championship. Between 1948 and 1953, the ice hockey department of the HTHC provided the champion of the Hamburg Ice and Roller Sports Association and as such was able to participate in the top division in Germany at the time - the Oberliga in the 1950/51 season . In 1954 the ice hockey division was dissolved by the HTHC board of directors.
tennis
Tennis has a long tradition at the HTHC. The club's tennis division is the oldest of the four sports on offer. Luis-Maria Heyden was multiple international German tennis champion in doubles and mixed in the 1920s. In 1912 he took part for Germany at the Olympic Games in Stockholm and won the bronze medal. Before the First World War, Miken Rieck-Galvao was the "little German tennis miracle". She won the German individual championships in 1910 and 1911 and made it to the final of the world championship in 1912 and 1913, which she also won in 1913. This made her the first German tennis world champion. The future French Open winner Gottfried von Cramm also found his sporting home at the HTHC.
In the last few years, the tennis division has dropped significantly and has not achieved any major regional or even nationwide successes.
lacrosse
The lacrosse club Hamburg Warriors , founded in 1996, was integrated into the HTHC on October 1st, 2002 under its current name as a separate sports division and has been trading as HTHC Hamburg Warriors ever since. The Hamburg Warriors are among the best teams in Germany. In 2016, the first men won the German championship title of the national leagues of the German Lacrosse Association for the second time after 2008 in the final against HLC Rot-Weiß München .
