The Klassenia Superiore 1998/99 (meaning: the highest league ) was the 60th edition of the Albanian football championship and was organized by the national football association Federata Shqiptare e Futbollit . The league was reduced by two clubs to 16 compared to the previous season . The season began on August 29, 1998 and ended on May 15, 1999.

Season course

For the championship, a three-way battle developed between runner-up SK Tirana , defending champion Vllaznia Shkodra and Bylis Ballsh .

Champion was SK Tirana, who only secured the title on the last match day with a 3-0 win against KS Burreli and relegated Vllaznia Shkodra to second place with one point behind.

Bylis Ballsh missed the first championship title in the club's history when they lost 1-0 at Skënderbeu Korça on the penultimate matchday and had to make do with third place and two points behind at the end of the season.

Apolonia Fier was able to save itself on the last day of play with a 2-1 against Teuta Durrës on the 13th place. On the other hand, Besa Kavaja , KF Laçi and KS Burelli had to go into the second class .
