The peaceful neighbor colony is a colliery settlement in Bochum's southernmost district of Linden .

The thirteen two-story brick houses were built around 1880 for the miners of the Friedlicher Nachbar colliery. The facades are simple and only adorned with stepped arches around the windows. Vertical and horizontal narrow ledges give an idea of the structure of the apartment and storey, the roof is flat. Some houses have brightly plastered facades facing the street. There were eight apartments in each house, and behind the houses were gardens for self-sufficiency.
