The Villa Baare is an entrepreneur's villa on Reiterweg 13 in the Wattenscheid district of Höntrop in Bochum . The adjacent Höntroper Straße was therefore called “Baarestraße” until it was incorporated into this street section. The villa was built in 1888 by the Bochumer Verein für Gußstahlfabrikation for its general director Louis Baare in the immediate vicinity of the United Maria Anna Steinbank colliery . Baare had a farm building added to it, and his son Fritz Baare in 1904 with a tower and extensions. Fritz Baare's widow lived here until 1945, after which the house was used as a children's sanatorium. In 1974 the company sold the villa to the city of Wattenscheid. Today an association runs a Waldorf kindergarten here .
